Lilacs: Lilacs are one of the most popular flowers in the world. They can be used as a standalone flower or combined with other flowers to create beautiful bouquets.

Lilacs are members of the olive family, which means they have small leaves and white, purple, or pink flowers. The flowers have five petals that grow in clusters at the top of the plant.

There are two types of lilac plants: the English, or common lilac (Syringa vulgaris), and the French, or tree lilac (Syringa oblata). The English lilac has a strong scent and purple flowers, while the French lilac has a milder scent and white flowers.

The first thing most people notice about lilacs is their intoxicating scent. It's often described as sweet but with an undertone of musky spice—which makes sense when you learn that it comes from an essential oil called caryophyllene oxide found in many different plants including rosemary, basil and hops!
