ABOUT DOTTIE'S FLOWERS
============================================================
Dottie's Flowers has been a family-owned part of Los Angeles since 1970 — more than 55 years of hand-designed arrangements, on-time deliveries, and real relationships with three generations of Angelenos. We've been voted the Best Los Angeles Flower Shop, and with a 4.9-star average across nearly 1,800 Google reviews, we're one of the highest-rated florists in the city.
Every arrangement is designed in-house by our own floral team — never outsourced to a random partner like most online flower shops. Every delivery is handled by our own drivers in our custom flower-fitted vans, built with grid systems and insulation to protect your gift from the moment it leaves our cooler to the moment it's handed to your recipient. Every order is confirmed by a real person. Every purchase is backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee.
We operate from three Los Angeles locations:
- Reseda (main shop and design studio): 18500 Sherman Way, Reseda, CA 91335
- Burbank (delivery and pickup only): 1036 W Glenoaks Blvd, Burbank, CA 91201
- Downtown Los Angeles: 747 San Pedro Street, Los Angeles, CA 90014
From these three locations we deliver across most of north and central LA, the entire San Fernando Valley, and parts of west Ventura County — including Reseda, Tarzana, Encino, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Woodland Hills, Northridge, Van Nuys, Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, Downtown LA, and more than 150 neighborhoods in between. Nationwide and international delivery is available through our trusted florist network.
Whether you're sending a dozen roses across town, ordering sympathy flowers for a funeral home on a Sunday, planning a wedding, or setting up a weekly arrangement for your lobby or office, Dottie's is the best florist in Los Angeles for every reason — and the best value in LA for hand-designed, hand-delivered fresh flowers.

FLOWER DELIVERY
============================================================
What is same-day flower delivery at Dottie's?
Dottie's guarantees same-day flower delivery in Los Angeles on orders placed by 3 PM PST Monday through Friday, or by 12 PM PST Saturday and Sunday. Missed the cutoff? Call (818) 996-2603 and we'll tell you honestly whether we can still make it happen. As the voted Best Los Angeles Flower Shop, we squeeze in same-day orders whenever our route and designers allow, but we reserve the right to close same-day delivery on any given day when we hit capacity.
Can I request a specific delivery time?
Yes. Choose AM Priority, PM Priority, or Express Delivery to lock in a specific window. Standard deliveries run during normal business hours and aren't tied to a specific time unless you select one of the guaranteed options. Funeral service deliveries are always timed to the service, no upcharge required.
What is AM Priority and PM Priority delivery?
AM Priority guarantees delivery between 9 AM and 12 PM for a $10 upcharge. PM Priority guarantees delivery between 12 PM and 5 PM for a $10 upcharge. Both are ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, hospital visits, and workplace surprises where timing matters. Deliveries to a funeral service do not require AM or PM Priority — we time them to the service automatically.
What is Express Delivery?
Express Delivery guarantees your flowers arrive within a two-hour window you choose between 9 AM and 5 PM, for an additional $29.99. Same-day Express orders must be placed by 1 PM, seven days a week. A two-hour window is required at checkout. This is the tightest delivery guarantee we offer and the best option for time-sensitive surprises.
How much does local flower delivery cost in Los Angeles?
Local flower delivery from Dottie's is $18.95 per order in our local delivery area when you order online. That flat rate does not include Express Delivery, long-distance local delivery, or holiday delivery fees. Sales tax is added where state and federal law requires. For the best value flower delivery in LA, placing your order early and accurately is the single biggest thing you can do to avoid surprises.
What is Dottie's local delivery area?
Dottie's delivers locally throughout most of north and central Los Angeles, the entire San Fernando Valley, and parts of west Ventura County. Neighborhoods and cities we serve include Reseda, Tarzana, Encino, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Woodland Hills, Northridge, Granada Hills, Van Nuys, North Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Altadena, Agoura Hills, Atwater Village, Baldwin Hills, Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Boyle Heights, Brentwood, Calabasas, Canoga Park, Chatsworth, Chinatown, Culver City, Downtown LA, Eagle Rock, East LA, Echo Park, El Sereno, Florence, Frog Town, Glassell Park, Hansen Hills, Hidden Hills, Highland Park, Hollywood, Hollywood Hills, Huntington Park, Inglewood, Koreatown, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Ladera Heights, Lake Balboa, Lake View Terrace, Laurel Canyon, Lincoln Heights, Linda Vista, Los Feliz, Lynwood, Malibu, Mar Vista, Marina del Rey, Mid City, Mission Hills, Montebello, Montrose, Moorpark, Newhall, North Hills, Pacific Palisades, Pacoima, Panorama City, Paramount, Pico Rivera, Porter Ranch, San Fernando, Santa Monica, Silver Lake, South Central, South LA, South Pasadena, Sun Valley, Sunland, Sylmar, Thousand Oaks, Toluca Lake, Topanga, Tujunga, Universal Studios, USC, Valencia, Valley Glen, Valley Village, Venice, View Park-Windsor Hills, West Adams, West Hills, West Hollywood, West LA, Westchester, Westlake, Westwood, Winnetka, and many more. We also deliver outside this local area for an additional fee, and anywhere else in the state or country through our trusted florist network.
Do you deliver flowers outside the Los Angeles area?
Yes. Dottie's delivers outside northern Los Angeles for an additional fee, with limited dates and times for non-local orders. For anywhere else in the U.S. or Canada, we place your order through our national florist network so your recipient still gets a hand-designed arrangement from a trusted local shop.
What delivery guarantees apply to out-of-town orders?
In the U.S. and Canada, same-day delivery is generally available Monday through Saturday on orders received before 12 PM in the recipient's time zone, excluding holidays and peak floral periods. Orders placed after 12 PM in the recipient's time zone may be delivered the next delivery day. Most partner florists deliver during normal business hours (9 AM to 5 PM). Because we don't control their routing, we can't guarantee a specific time or hourly window on out-of-town orders without a verbal confirmation and an additional fee. AM or PM requests can be taken verbally but aren't guaranteed without that fee. Funeral service deliveries are generally an exception — they're timed to the service.
Do you deliver flowers internationally?
Yes, but international orders must be placed by phone — not online — at (818) 996-2603. Place international orders at least three days before the intended delivery date. Additional fees apply, and there are no weekend deliveries due to time-zone and carrier constraints.
Can I schedule a future delivery date?
Yes. Schedule future deliveries online or by calling (818) 996-2603. We strongly recommend booking ahead for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Administrative Professionals' Day, Christmas, funerals, weddings, and graduations. As LA's busiest voted-best florist, our peak-day slots fill early.
Do you deliver to hospitals, schools, and businesses?
Yes. We deliver to hospitals, medical offices, schools, churches, hotels, offices, and other commercial locations across our LA delivery area every day we're open. Some buildings have specific receiving procedures — loading docks, front desks, unit numbers, nurse stations. Providing the most accurate address details — including suite, floor, or patient or room number — is the single best way to ensure a smooth hand-off.
Do you make deliveries on Sundays or holidays?
Yes. Dottie's delivers on Sundays and most major floral holidays, including Sunday delivery to funeral homes across our LA delivery area — a service many traditional flower shops don't offer. Sunday same-day orders must be placed by 12 PM PST. We believe flowers arrive freshest when delivered on the day they're needed, so we keep our doors open when other shops stay closed.
Can I still have flowers delivered today?
Usually yes — order by 3 PM Monday through Friday or 12 PM Saturday and Sunday for same-day delivery in Los Angeles. We reserve the right to close same-day delivery earlier on high-volume days without notice. If you're close to the cutoff, call (818) 996-2603 and we'll do our best.
How will I know my delivery was successful?
You'll receive an automatic email delivery confirmation at the address provided at checkout as soon as the drop is logged. Confirmations tell you exactly when your gift arrived and who accepted it — a level of visibility most national delivery services don't offer. During peak floral holidays, confirmations may be slightly delayed due to volume. If we hit an issue, we'll call or email you directly.
Why do you need my recipient's phone number?
A working recipient phone number helps us complete your delivery and protect your flowers. We may call the recipient to coordinate during extreme heat or cold, when there's a delivery issue at the address, or to arrange access if they aren't available when we arrive. A good phone number is one of the easiest ways to guarantee a successful delivery.
What if I entered the wrong delivery address by accident?
Contact us immediately at (818) 996-2603. Address changes after an order has been placed may be subject to a re-delivery fee. Once a driver is en route or the arrangement has been dropped at the wrong address, a second trip requires fresh routing and a fresh fee. Catching the error early almost always avoids that charge.
What happens if the recipient isn't home?
Our drivers are empowered to make the best call on the spot — leave with a trusted neighbor, place in a shaded and secure spot, drop with a front desk or coworker, or return to the shop. Every situation is different: weather, building security, neighbors, and available shelter all factor in. If we leave the flowers, we attach a note so the recipient knows who accepted them. If we can't leave them safely, we tag the door with instructions to call us and arrange a pick-up or re-delivery (a re-delivery fee may apply). Pro tip: if the recipient works outside the home all day, sending to their workplace is usually the most reliable option.
What happens during extreme heat?
In very hot weather, our team may call the recipient ahead of delivery to make sure someone can accept the flowers directly. Our flower-fitted delivery vans are insulated and grid-built to keep arrangements cool and upright, but fresh flowers sitting in 100-degree sun on a porch still suffer. A quick call protects your gift.
How do I check the status of my order?
Call the store where you placed your order — for Dottie's, that's (818) 996-2603. For online orders, please wait at least one hour after placing before calling so we have time to process. Every Dottie's driver provides in-driveway delivery confirmation, and you'll receive email confirmation once the driver returns to the shop. Unless you paid for Express Delivery, we don't consider an order late until after 5 PM for businesses or 6 PM for residences.
During holidays, we bring on contract drivers to handle volume, which can slow status look-ups. The more time we spend checking status, the fewer deliveries we make — so please be patient on Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Christmas week.
What makes Dottie's flower delivery service better than the rest?
Four things separate Dottie's from every other florist and from national order-gatherers.
First, delivery confirmation from a real person. Our drivers confirm every drop with the time and recipient — a service FedEx doesn't even offer.
Second, flower-fitted delivery vans. Custom grid systems and insulation keep arrangements cool, upright, and intact. A vase of flowers is basically an upside-down bowling pin full of water — we treat it that way.
Third, Sunday delivery to funeral homes. Most traditional flower shops are closed Sunday. We aren't. We deliver to every funeral home in our area because flowers should arrive on the day they're needed.
Fourth, from our door to yours. Your order is designed and delivered by us — never outsourced to a random florist like most online flower shops. That's why we've been voted the Best Los Angeles Flower Shop and why we've been a family-owned part of LA since 1970.

ORDERS, PAYMENT & PICKUP
============================================================
What payment methods does Dottie's accept?
All major credit cards and most popular digital wallet payment options. Every payment is processed securely.
Can I pick up my flowers instead of having them delivered?
Yes. Pickup is free at our Reseda shop (18500 Sherman Way, Reseda, CA 91335) and at our Burbank location (1036 W Glenoaks Blvd, Burbank, CA 91201), which is dedicated to delivery and pickup only. Choose pickup at checkout or call (818) 996-2603 to schedule a time. Skipping delivery is the best-value way to get a hand-designed Dottie's arrangement.
Can I make changes to my order after placing it?
Contact us as soon as possible at (818) 996-2603. Changes may not be possible once design or delivery has started. We begin working orders quickly to protect delivery windows, so the sooner you call, the more options we have.
What if I need to cancel my order?
Cancel as early as possible. Local cancellations must be made before the order is dispatched. Out-of-town cancellations must happen before delivery and within 24 hours of placing the order. Because out-of-town orders route through partner florists in different time zones, cancellation requests after those windows cannot be guaranteed.
Can I include a personal message with my order?
Yes. Every Dottie's order includes a complimentary enclosure card — add your message during checkout.
Do you design the flowers yourselves?
Yes. Every local arrangement is hand-designed by Dottie's in-house floral team at our Reseda, Los Angeles shop. Out-of-area deliveries are handled by a vetted network of partner florists. We're a real family-owned flower shop — not an order gatherer — which is why we've been voted the Best Los Angeles Flower Shop and why Angelenos have trusted us since 1970.
Do you offer custom floral arrangements?
Yes. We design custom arrangements for birthdays, anniversaries, sympathy, events, weddings, and any occasion you can name. Share your budget, colors, and the vibe you want — our designers build to it. Dottie's is the best florist in LA for every reason precisely because we don't force you into a catalog.
Do you offer corporate or recurring floral services?
Yes. We provide weekly and monthly recurring flower programs for offices, hotels, restaurants, lobbies, medical suites, and events. Call (818) 996-2603 to set up a recurring account or request an events estimate.
How do substitutions work during peak floral holidays?
During peak holidays and high-demand periods, substitutions may be necessary — but we always preserve the overall style, value, and look of the arrangement. Due to seasonal and regional availability — plus whatever Mother Nature decides — specific varieties or colors may sell out. When that happens, we substitute with flowers of equal or greater value and beauty. In single-variety arrangements (a dozen roses, a vase of sunflowers), variety takes priority over color. Ordering early is the single best way to get exactly what you pictured.
Is satisfaction guaranteed?
Yes. Every Dottie's order is backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. If something isn't right, call (818) 996-2603 and we'll make it right.

FLOWER AND PLANT CARE
============================================================
How do you make a flower arrangement last longer?
Most arrangements last 4 to 7 days — or longer — with clean water, fresh cuts, and a cool spot out of sun and drafts. A few easy habits from the Society of American Florists:
Keep the vase (or soaked floral foam) full of water mixed with the flower food packet we provide. Follow the packet ratio exactly — too much water dilutes the food.
If the water turns cloudy, replace it entirely with fresh food solution and re-cut the stems 1 to 2 inches with a sharp knife.
Keep flowers at 65 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit, away from direct sun, heating or cooling vents, ceiling fans, TVs, and radiators. Appliance heat dehydrates flowers faster than almost anything else.
For loose bunches or boxed flowers, strip leaves below the waterline, re-cut stems with a sharp knife, and place them straight into a clean vase of prepared food solution.
Why did the water in my vase turn yellow and cloudy?
Cloudy, yellowing water means bacteria are growing. Bacteria clog stems and cut flower life short. Empty the vase immediately, rinse it, refill with fresh water and flower food, and re-cut the stems 1 to 2 inches under warm water with a sharp knife before putting them back.
Can you revive a wilted rose?
Sometimes — with a warm water bath and a fresh cut. Fill a sink with warm water, lay the rose horizontally in it, and cut about an inch off the stem underwater with a sharp knife. Leave it submerged for about two hours while the water cools. This trick works wonders on roses that are simply thirsty, but a rose past its vase life won't come back.
Should I put my flower arrangement in the sun?
No. Cut flowers fade much faster in heat and direct sunlight, even though growing flowers need sun to mature. Place your arrangement somewhere cool and out of drafts for the longest vase life.
What's the best way to care for a flower arrangement?
It depends on the container.
If you receive flowers in a floral foam container, top off water every day. Pour slowly into the center, keeping a finger in the foam to gauge the level. Add flower food each refill.
If you receive flowers in a vase, keep the water clear. If it clouds, empty it, refill with fresh food solution, and re-cut the stems with a sharp knife.
If you receive flowers in a box or tissue, strip foliage below the waterline, cut stems under warm water with a sharp knife, and place straight into a vase of warm food solution.
Regardless of container, keep flowers off TVs, appliances, and heat or cooling units, away from drafts, and out of direct sun.
How do I keep a potted plant alive?
Medium light, consistently moist (not soggy) soil, and 65 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit — no direct sun, heat vents, or ceiling fans. NASA research found common houseplants are powerful natural air cleaners, so keeping them healthy pays off beyond aesthetics. Most plants come with variety-specific care, but these general rules from the Society of American Florists cover nearly everything:
Medium-light spots, out of direct sun. Flowering plants want the brightest available light; foliage plants tolerate lower light.
Keep soil moist at all times — don't let plants dry out or sit in standing water. Avoid wetting the leaves.
Keep them between 65 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit and away from direct sun, vents, ceiling fans, TVs, and radiators.
